In Another Life I Was Your Favorite Rapper

Fuck all the glamour and glitz.  No plans to be rich.  I’m from Portland, but never was a fan of The Shins.  Ha, I’m just playin’.  The Shins were hella dope.  Back in my younger days blazed a lot of  that chronic smoke.  Currently though?  I’m all about the craft beers.  All around the city you can hear me yelling Cheers!  My fears – for the future are documented and widely known.  From climate change to police brutality we’re all in the Terrordome.  But I have a prescription to make it all better.  We need to focus on the love,  instead of on the cheddar.  Because whether we like it or not we’re all in this together.

Pints and Protest???

Lately I have been focused more upon the pints than the protest.  The internet makes staying informed easier now than at any other time in human history, but it also can overwhelm a person.

It goes without saying that there is so much fucked up shit going on in the world today.

Syria.  Ebola in Africa.  Ferguson.  Gaza.  Iraq.  Immigrant Children.  Ukraine.  Afghanistan.  The list goes on and on.  It does not even touch upon the daily systemic issues of hunger, poverty, domestic violence, women’s and minority’s rights, corporate hegemony, economic inequality, environmental degradation for profit, and more.

I needed and continue to need a break.  An informed citizenry is necessary to maintain a healthy democracy, but all of this fear, hate, and evil is too much for me to take in on a full-time basis without being able to do more than share and spotlight.  I cannot even imagine what it is like for the people living it.

I am so thankful that my children are too young for all of this still.  I can only hope and pray that my example, insight, and comfort will be enough to support them when the curtains are drawn back in their later teen years and some of the negativity comes to light.

Love and positivity will always conquer hate and negativity.  Bless up…
